I’m not a big iPhone / iPod fan… I mean, they’re cute and all, but I keep seeing it as apple fanboy material, and the technologies included, apart from the multi-touch screen, aren’t all that fancy, when compared to other devices…
Anyway, this was something that had to be shared… I mean, ordering room service from your iPhone or iPod Touch? That’s just awesome!
According to Engadget, they will lend you an iPod Touch at arrival or, if you already own one (or an iPhone), they will give you access to their wireless network and to a web application specially designed for safari.
As I just said above, I’m not a big iPhone fan, but this was definitly a great use of those devices. I’ve already seen a lot of businesses in Portugal who use Windows Mobile devices with a wireless network (like restaurants and the place where I get my car inspected every year). These are great ideas, and I think they’ll keep growing… I mean, we have the technology so.. what’s keeping us?
Also, why isn’t is possible to order pizza online yet? Yeah telepizza, I’m looking at you. Fancy website with menus and stuff, but where’s the “order button”? I don’t want to spend money on a phone call to order a pizza that I’m also gonna have to pay for!
