Nazi Family Discriminated!

Now there’s a perfectly ordinary english sentence that you don’t quite hear every day but, appearantly is quite true!

The family named their son after Hitler (yeah, that Hitler) and complained when their request for a cake was denied by the grocer. It seems that he or she wasn’t too comfortable about giving Hitler a wish…

The grocer offered to make a cake with enough room for the to write their own inscription. But the refused, saying they would have a cake made at the in Lower Nazareth Township. The say made cakes for ’s first two birthdays.

said they have to respect their customers’ views as long as it isn’t illegal of profane…

If the have a legal case over the refusal, it would be that the family was denied service because of race, or religion, said Shannon Powers, of the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission, a state agency that enforces anti-discrimination laws.

The , she said, would have to prove didn’t make a reasonable attempt to provide service it provides others. She said the offer to make a cake with room for an inscription would probably count as a reasonable attempt.

This was definitly the best thing I read today… there’s more here.
