Monty Python’s Life of Brian ban is lifted after 30 years

Monty Python - Meaning of Life and will be seeing for the first time the 30-year-old in , west Wales later this month. This is happening because, up until now, the was banned from screening in the town theaters.

The ban was made because opponents to the claimed that it made fun of . Monthy Python was accused of blasphemy because the tells the story of a Jewish man who is mistaken for the messiah and crucified.

Thirty years later the ban is lifted by the town mayor Sue Jones-Davies who, back then, played Brian’s girlfriend in the brilliantly controversial comedy. Apparently she had no idea about the ban until a “journalist who pointed out to me that the had never been shown in because of the ban,” said Mrs Jones-Davies.

I don’t know if you’re a Python fan or if you even ever saw the , but this is like Comedy 101 and absolutely needs to be seen at least once in a lifetime!
