Twitter Gadget allows you to tweet from Gmail
Twitter Gadget for Gmail is a twitter client embedded right in Gmail, allowing you to have one more service focused in just one browser tab/window.
Instructions to install this gadget are quite simple and information is provided in the gadget’s website, which needs a bit of a face lift
You will need to enable a Labs feature (Insert Gadgets by URL) and allow access to the Gadget in your Twitter account. This way it won’t have to store your password and, best of all: the gadget itself does that almost automatically.
Here are some of the features in the current version:
- OAuth authentication, your Twitter account password is not required.
- Supports multiple Twitter accounts
- Mark all as read(like Google Reader)
- Automatically refresh
- Reply, Re-tweet inline
- View reply to inline
- Gmail look and feel
Keep in mind this is somehow recent, there are a few things to be done:
- Share tweets with friends
- Locality tweets
- Known Issue: Gadget session will expired in an hour, this is a restraint of the Gmail opensocial gadget API. If you encounter ‘ajax error’, please go to Inbox, then reload page.
All the gadget credit goes to @c9.

This is also a very nice twitter gadget:
Follow Tweet is a new webbased Twitter tool to read conversations top down. All Twitter users know how hard it is to follow a conversation in twitter. For every tweet you have to click “in reply to “. With Follow Tweet you open the tweet you want to follow and then click a bookmarklet. Then Follow Tweet shows you the whole conversation.
