Managing a Linux System is definitely not an easy task, specially if you’re not using more than a CLI (Command Line Interface). There are a lot of commands to remember and settings to change along the multiple processes running on your server.
This is where Webmin comes in. After instalation it integrates itself with your server’s user system and allows any user with root previleges to log in (usually this is a pretty narrow list) and administer the machine through a web interface.
Of course you’ll still need some base linux knowledge to successfully administer your server but Webmin will allow you to do it more easily through the web interface from virtually any place in the world: It runs by default through HTTPS on port 10000 so all you have to do is forward it on your router (if your server isn’t already directly connected to the internet).
